Hello, I’m Les Cockrell. I’m a virtual-based counselor located in South Texas and I help adult clients who are struggling with depression, anxiety, anger, ADHD, and substance addiction.

Your counseling sessions with me will look like this: A warm, caring atmosphere with nonjudgmental acceptance; an approach that consists of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness; a collaboration where you set your goals and I help you get the tools necessary to accomplish them.

Services

Feel and do better
at your own pace.

Personalized 1-on-1 counseling

Together, we’ll identify your goals for
counseling. We’ll look at obstacles and
unhealthy thought patterns that can
get in the way.

A collaborative effort

As the client, I view you as the expert in your
own life. During sessions, I’ll walk along beside
you and help you see things from a different,
healthier perspective.

CBT

I use CBT to help clients examine faulty
thoughts and limiting beliefs that can
impede progress towards their goals. You’ll
learn to slow down and take time to examine
your thoughts as you encounter situations.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness consists of paying attention to your thoughts and feelings while accepting them without judgment. Remember, it’s OK to think and feel anything, it’s what we do that matters. You will learn mindfulness practices to become more aware and accepting of yourself.

For counseling to be most effective, it’s best to be open and honest with you counselor. This might be uncomfortable at times, but you will learn how to cope with these thoughts and emotions. Overall, you can expect to make progress to the goals agreed upon by you and the counselor.

How do I know if counseling is working?

You’ll recognize the effectiveness of mental health counseling through observable changes: increased awareness of your thoughts and feelings, a shift in how you see challenges, increased confidence, and progress toward your goals. Additionally, consistent reflection and feedback sessions with your counselor will help assess and track your growth.

Who can benefit from counseling?
